"The women think this is about lies and the men think it’s about science." Yup. Strange, isn't it, that women tend to reach for the problems trans introduces to human relationships (the barriers to real intimacy when we lie, or ask others to lie), and the men tend to point to the problems trans introduces to science.
It's almost as though we are a sexually dimorphic species. Great job again, Glenna Goldis. You are a warrior queen.
If it’s just an EO, it can be overturned by an EO from the next Democrat President. If it’s a law, it will remain in effect at least until Democrats win a trifecta. The former could take as little as four years, the latter may take over a decade.
And the longer the better, since we continue to shift public opinion to our side on this issue every day. By time Democrats win a trifecta, “trans-rights” may very well be a losing platform plank within the Democrat party.
It is likely that millions of Americans have been entangled in gender ideology unwittingly by their healthcare organizations. I have a question about this at the end of this comment.
Specifically, the personal information system used by many health care organizations (MyChart by Epic Systems Corporation) probably discloses every patient's sex as having been "assigned at birth." Mine does. MyChart does not give me the option of recording, displaying and reporting my sex without also concurring tacitly that my sex was assigned at birth. For example, I cannot select "sex observed at birth: male". The compliance manager of one of my health care organizations justifies the wording on the ground that the CDC uses it.
This is a problem because my sex really was not "assigned" at birth. First, when I was born almost 70 years ago, the queer ideology behind that wording did not exist. Secondly, I was not born with a DSD, so the doctor did not have to apply informed guesswork to "assign" my sex. Finally, I refuse to go along with the belief that sex is fluid and can change over a person's lifetime. Except for the vanishingly small percentage of infants born with DSDs, that is the only reason for that particular wording.
Also, MyChart very likely reports a "gender identity" for every patient. The versions of MyChart my healthcare organizations use do not give me the option of selecting "none" under "Gender Identity." That is the only option I would find acceptable. I am a sex realist who does not "identify" as male. I AM male.
To make matters much, much worse, the patient information system does not give patients a definition of "gender identity" when they are providing their personal information. That is an unfair and deceptive practice. There is little doubt that normal patients would refuse to state a gender identity if they understood that it serves one purpose and one purpose only, namely as an accommodation to trans and genderqueer people and their allies.
My health care organizations have refused to correct the errors. One gave a spurious reason. The other was candid that it is motivated by gender ideology.
Questions: Which part of the gender EOs does this problem fall under? Which federal agency or agencies are best situated to make the health care organizations and MyChart abandon these coercive practices?
Thanks for such an informative and well organized article on this subject. Many of us are beyond relieved that this trend is being arrested on the federal level.
To whom you are attracted sexually is purely subjective and therefore cannot reasonably be contested by an outside observer.
Where you decide to live your life on a spectrum of superficial, stereotypical male to female attributes (and we all do) is also purely subjective and similarly cannot be questioned.
However, your biological sex reflects an objective reality which cannot be changed by your subjective personal view and futile attempts to do so can result in serious health impacts to you as well as harms to members of the sex you are impersonating (primarily women).
Others who are grounded in objective reality should never be forced to accept your subjective version of your actual biological sex.
Finally, it's past time for the LGB community to separate themselves from the trans activists who are trying to take away the rights of women to fairness in sports and to privacy and safety in their restrooms, locker rooms and prisons. They also advocate for the chemical and surgical mutilation of children many of whom would grow up gay.
Their actions are evil and the
understandable negative reaction to the harm they are causing is spilling over to innocent people who are just going about their business, marrying and leading their lives.
We are separating and have divorced the TQ. New LGB Alliance orgs have been set up in multiple countries. Please find them online and support them! They don't have much power or influence yet, but with everyone's support, inc our straight supporters, they will grow. And if you are a lefty check out another new org called Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender, or DIAG, who also support the divorce.
Glenna, I just read your thread analyzing the EO’s definition of “gender identity.” Thanks for that, too.
A question…someone in my family has argued with my assertion (as you wrote in part 11 of the thread) that “gender identity is not based in biology.” My relative says “We don’t know; there could be some biological basis for ‘male brains’ and ’female brains’ we haven’t found yet.” Do you have a good response to that?
"We don't know, maybe we haven't found it yet" is demanding that our side prove a negative (logically impossible). The burden is on them not us. Their side has been searching for this bio basis for 60 years backed up by massive funding. They can't even coherently explain a mechanism by which a male brain would end up in a female head.
My tongue-in-cheek observation about the ACLU is that their terror of a lady lawyer Chase Strangio may be the only instance in history in which a bitchy gay man has been born in a woman's body.
Scientifically speaking, while we are a sexually dimorphic species, there are many characteristics that have overlap between males and females. Even some of the characteristics relevant to sports like height, muscle strength, maybe even proprioceptors might present as a Zenn diagram with some women and men in the overlap area between the two typical phenotypes. We've already identified many brain differences between the sexes, but misinterpretations of those differences are simply bad science. The bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BSTc), a brain area that is essential for sexual behavior, is typically 2.5 times larger in men than in women. Decades ago, scientists found a female-sized BSTc in deceased male-to-female transsexuals. More research determined that the size of the BSTc was not influenced by sex hormones in adulthood and was independent of sexual orientation. One study claims that female-typical brain structures in genetically male transsexuals supports the hypothesis that gender identity develops as a result of an interaction between the developing brain and sex hormones. But what exactly is gender identity? It's simply a chosen label that describes one's concordance or discomfort with his or her sex.
So let's think about interpretations of why some males have characteristics in common with typical females. Is a man with small hands a female? Nope. Does a female-typical part of the brain make a man want to wear dresses or makeup? Does that mean, as trans activists claim, that some men literally have a female brain in a male body? No. If the female sized BSTc makes you want to smear on makeup, then why doesn't it make all women want to look like a creepy drag queen or porn star?
Sometimes scientists can't even figure out their own biases. Many of these studies included heterosexual males, heterosexual females, homosexual males and... trans women. Guess who was left out. Yep, probably the key to the whole picture: Lesbians. The most forgotten group in the world.
Here's the reality of the brain's effect on behavior: Some girls like to climb trees. That doesn't make them boys. It makes them strong, brave girls. Some boys want to play with dolls. That doesn't make them girls. Maybe they're sensitive boys. Maybe they're just curious about toys that are like little humans. If there's something making male transgenders want to wear tight dresses, high heels, wigs, icky makeup and bright red lipstick like a giant yoni on their face, it's about stereotypes, not being female. They're “identifying” into a stereotype. That's why they don't “dress up” like a butch lesbian.
The best response is that brains have nothing to do with sex.
Human sex is categorized by the role one plays in reproduction. And that is determined by what genitals you have and what gametes you produce. Brain structure never enters into the equation.
Thank you for your effort assembling this detailed analysis, Glenna.
Only one thing stood out for me (well 2, but same issue):
“Trump’s DOJ can sue the state systems for violating female inmates’ civil rights.”
I find it hard to believe that Trump’s DOJ will be deployed to make this a priority, similarly with enforcing the civil rights of women and girls in relation to sports, bathrooms, opportunities, etc.: they’re “just” women after all, and any such work would come at the expense of persecuting his “enemies”.
But I hope to be proven wrong.
About this, and about the fascism I believe he desires.
What about Idaho's bid to have SCOTUS overturn Obergefell? Thomas has indicated a willingness to overturn. This wouldn't seem to fit within benign neglect of gays under the new administration.
So the boys have MORE single-sex spaces than the girls, although girls typically have to rearrange more clothing, sit down to pee, and frequently have to attend to menstruation issues/disasters. Totally discriminatory in my view.
They, Felix Baukholt and Theresa Youngblut, who killed the Maine border guard, appear to be followers of, or influenced by, the Zizians, a group of men colonizing female personas,, whose leader, Jack LaSota (mtf) preaches that the right and left hemispheres of your brain are two separate, distinct entities/people often at odds with each other. The Zizians also claim to be practioners of Ethical Altruism, the trend that convicted grifter Sam Bankman-Fried ascribed to. Felix/Ophelia's partner, Theresa Youngblut, who killed the Border Guard, was reported missing by her family last May 2024. They believe that she had been brainwashed by a man a few years older than her who cut her off from her family.

Some people in the rationalist community are concerned about risks of physical violence from Ziz and some of her associates. Following discussions with several people, I’m posting here to explain where those concerns come from, and recommend some responses.
TLDR (details and links in the post body)
Over the past few years, Ziz has repeatedly called for the deaths of many different classes of people.
In August of 2022, Ziz seems to have faked her own death. Ziz’s close associate Gwen Danielson may have done the same thing in April of 2022.
In November of 2022, three associates of Ziz (Somnulence “Somni” Logencia, Emma Borhanian, and someone going by the alias “Suri Dao”) got into a violent conflict with their landlord in Vallejo, California, according to court records and news reports. Somni stabbed the landlord in the back with a sword, and the landlord shot Somni and Emma. Emma died, and Somni and Suri were arrested. Ziz and Gwen were seen by police at the scene, alive.
I gather that Pennsylvania police believe, based on a lot of circumstantial evidence and investigation, that one or more of Ziz, Michelle “Jamie” Zajko, or Daniel Blank was very plausibly involved in the murder of Jamie’s parents in Pennsylvania around December 31st, 2022.
Ziz is currently in police custody on charges related to obstructing a PA police investigation. Daniel, Jamie, and Gwen are not in custody (as far as I know), and I don’t know their locations.
This is very helpful Glenna. It must have taken a long time.

We need to get this EO codified into law.
If it’s just an EO, it can be overturned by an EO from the next Democrat President. If it’s a law, it will remain in effect at least until Democrats win a trifecta. The former could take as little as four years, the latter may take over a decade.

Such valuable information. Thank you so much for laying it all out for us!

Did you know that the founder/CEO of EPIC software (MyChart) is a dude in a dress who calls himself Judith Faulkner?

I thought it was Martin/Martine Rothblatt, another confused man.
No, Rothblatt founded Sirius XM satellite radio. He provides satellite 📡 service to the MIC

Great article. I noticed on the NYT facebook post about the transgender prison changes that the vast majority were commenting "poor transwomen" and very few were commenting about the poor women having to share prison spaces with intact men pretending to be women. https://www.facebook.com/nytimes/posts/pfbid02icAsFvkzR8eqHthcRNGpyoyRJhNNyNdwimqjptjjR8ZA9DJTtyxDuz7ZSATVnTSMl

Maybe—but still unjust imho.
